Russian drone attacks civilian train in Donetsk region, driver injured

On May 12, a Russian drone attacked a civilian freight train in the Donetsk region. The driver was injured as a result of the attack. About this reported press service of Ukrzaliznytsia.

“Ceasefire proposals are ignored, enemy attacks on railway infrastructure and rolling stock continue: today another enemy UAV attacked a civilian freight train in Donetsk region”, says the message.

As a result of the impact on the locomotive, the driver suffered a shrapnel injury to his leg. He was quickly given medical assistance and hospitalized, there is no threat to his life. Despite the attack, train traffic was not stopped.

“Despite the danger of working at stations near the front line, drivers of Ukrzaliznytsia bravely continue to work, in bulletproof vests and helmets, with medical kits to provide assistance, and most importantly – taking on the risk and responsibility, because it is critical to maintain traffic where there is still such an opportunity.”, – emphasized in Ukrzaliznytsia.

We will remind that on the night of May 2, the locomotive repair plant of Ukrzaliznytsia in Zaporizhzhia – ZERZ – became the object of a massive attack by drones.
