SBU prevented FSB plans to eliminate the commander of the “Da Vinci Wolves” battalion, Filimonov

Security Service of Ukraine prevented to the contract killing of Serhiy Filimonov, the commander of the 108th separate battalion of the Wolves of the Da Vinci Armed Forces, which was prepared by the Federal Security Service of Russia.
According to the special service, the FSB recruited a resident of the Dnipropetrovsk region to carry out the crime, passing it off as cooperation with Ukrainian intelligence. The SBU notes that the Russian special services have begun to use a new tactic — intelligence operations “under a foreign flag.”
“During recruitment interviews, FSB representatives pretend to be employees of the Security Service and give tasks to the agents allegedly in the interests of Ukraine. This is the “hook” that fell on the ATO participant from Kamianskyi, who was sure that he was instructed by the SBU to neutralize an adjuster who works for the Russian Federation, and not a Ukrainian military commander.” — the special service informs.
The investigation established that a representative of the FSB, who introduced herself as an employee of the SBU, called the man through social networks.
“During the conversation, she reported that the online store where the person involved had previously ordered medical drugs allegedly finances the Russian army. She used this fabricated information to accuse the Ukrainian of treason and reported on the alleged criminal case opened against him.” – it is noted in the message.
In order to increase the pressure, the FSB sent the man a fake summons for interrogation by the SBU. After that, he was offered “cooperation” with the Security Service in exchange for closing the fictitious case. In particular, he received a questionnaire for “employment” in the SBU and instructions to come to Kyiv.
“The curators from the FSB manipulated the patriotic beliefs of a Ukrainian who sincerely believed that he was helping the Ukrainian special service to fight the enemy. In correspondence with his liaison man, he expressed his readiness to destroy the occupiers – even at the cost of his own life.”, – the department emphasizes.
After arriving in Kyiv, the person involved was tasked with renting an apartment in the same complex where, according to the FSB, Serhiy Filimonov lives, and also to start tracking his car.
“At the same time, an FSB employee presented a Ukrainian military officer as a ‘traitor’ who was allegedly launching strikes on Kyiv. After one of the massive missile strikes on the capital, the curator convinced the suspect that the ‘object’ he was monitoring was responsible for this.” – says the message.
The recruit regularly sent photos from the yard of the house and a detailed description of the commander’s movements.
“Later, the curator from the FSB gave the suspect the coordinates of a cache on the outskirts of Kyiv, where automatic weapons were hidden. After receiving the Kalashnikov assault rifle, the man continued the surveillance, and later received instructions to eliminate the Ukrainian soldier.” — the Ukrainian special service informs.
Employees of the SBU detained the man when he went outside with a weapon. Under the procedural guidance of the General Prosecutor’s Office, the detainee was declared suspect under Art. 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine — illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
