Search operations completed in a high-rise building in the Solomiansky district of Kyiv (video)

Rescuers have completed the search in a multi-story building in the Solomyansk district of the capital. The operation lasted for more than 39 hours, and the disassembly of the collapsed structures is currently underway. About this reported Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko.

According to Ihor Klymenko, the bodies of 23 dead people were pulled out from under the rubble in this area alone. In total, as a result of the Russian attack on Kyiv on June 17, 28 people died, and more than 140 were injured.

Rescue operations began immediately after emergency services arrived at the scene. More than 400 specialists of the State Emergency Service and more than 200 pieces of equipment were involved in the liquidation of the consequences. Specialized emergency rescue and engineering equipment, drones and search dogs were used.

“Emergency services rescued 2 people from the rubble, about 50 more people managed to unblock from apartments and entrances. Groups of psychologists worked on the spot – more than 220 people received emergency psychological help. We used all resources to save lives.” Klymenko noted.

According to the minister, more than 300 policemen ensured law and order around the clock at the scene of the tragedy. The rotation continues. Also, the police continues to accept applications from the victims – so far, about 500 applications have been received regarding damaged property.

Head of KMVA Timur Tkachenko clarified, that 4,000 cubic meters of construction waste have already been removed in the Solomyansk district. 950 windows were closed, but this volume is not yet final. In the Darnytskyi district, work continues at 14 addresses: 855 windows have been closed in damaged houses, and another 90 need to be closed. In the Shevchenkiv district, the primary measures to eliminate the consequences of shelling have been completed. There, 150 cubic meters of garbage were removed, damaged roofs were examined, and temporary repairs were carried out.

“Districts of Kyiv, which suffered less, provided specialists and equipment. We will restore everything that was destroyed. But the lives of 28 Kyivans, who were caught at home by the Russian attack, will not be returned. 142 people were injured, including 6 children.”, Tkachenko added.

We will remind you that on the night of June 17, Russia launched a combined attack on Kyiv using drones, cruise missiles and ballistic missiles. Damage was recorded in seven districts of the city. As a result of the attack, 28 people died, more than 140 were injured.

In the Solomyan district, the entrance of an apartment building and a dormitory of the aviation institute were destroyed, educational institutions and infrastructure facilities were damaged. A high-rise building was damaged in Darnytskyi district. In total, destruction was recorded at 27 locations in the capital.
