Shufrych will perform the duties of a people’s deputy in a pre-trial detention center: court decision

The lawyers of Nestor Shufrych achieved a unique decision by the Shevchenkiv Court of Kyiv, which should ensure the opportunity for the person accused of treason to fulfill his duties as a people’s deputy. Supervision of the implementation of this decision is entrusted to the prosecutor in the case, informs People’s Deputy Oleksandr Dubinsky.

“To oblige the authorized persons responsible for ensuring proper conditions during the detention of the accused Nestor Ivanovych Shufrych in custody within the framework of the applied preventive measure, to take measures to ensure the rights of the accused regarding the exercise of the powers of the People’s Deputy of Ukraine in the form and in the manner determined by the current legislation”, says the text of the court decision.

We will remind that on November 14, the court extended the preventive measure in the form of keeping Shufrych in custody. Prior to this, the Security Service of Ukraine, together with the State Bureau of Investigation and the Prosecutor General’s Office, collected evidence regarding Shufrych’s anti-Ukrainian activities.

Based on these materials, he was charged with suspicion under Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason). Shufrych, who represented OPZZH in the parliament, is accused of financing the Russian Guard in occupied Crimea.
