Spanish court classifies Portnov murder investigation

A court in Spain classified the investigation into the murder of Andrii Portnov, the former deputy head of the administration of ex-president Viktor Yanukovych. About this informsEFE agency.

Sources close to the investigation said preliminary evidence indicated at least nine shots were fired in the back — nine shell casings were found at the crime scene. The number of injuries sustained by Portnov has not yet been determined. A large number of shell casings indicates the attacker’s intention to kill the target with certainty, he probably used most of the ammunition in the store.

Investigators believe three people were involved in the crime: the gunman and two accomplices who may have helped him escape from an area near the school to a large wooded area that connects Madrid to Pozuelo de Alarcon.

We will remind that on May 21 it became known about the murder of Andrii Portnov in Spain. The attackers fired five shots, at least three of which hit the victim in the head and back. The information was confirmed by the Defense Forces of Ukraine and the National Police of Spain.

Portnov has been under US sanctions since December 2021. His name was added to the list under the “Magnitsky Act”, which applies to officials involved in serious human rights violations and grand corruption.
