Stefanchuk closed the meeting of the Verkhovna Rada ahead of schedule due to disputes between people’s deputies

On March 27, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, was dismissed early closed plenary session of the parliament due to disputes between people’s deputies.

The discussion in the session hall broke out over draft law No. 11387, which provides for administrative liability for government officials who do not appear at the summons of the Verkhovna Rada, as well as the possibility of considering the issue of their dismissal.

The initiative to consider this bill was supported by representatives of several factions — Yaroslav Zheleznyak (“Voice”), Artur Gerasimov (“European Solidarity”) and Maksym Buzhansky (“Servant of the People”).

“Briefly: I made a speech in the Council regarding disrespect to the Parliament and the new agreement on minerals. I interrupted the further meeting. Therefore, dear journalist friends, draft law No. 11533 on registers will not be present either today or at all in the next two weeks.” noted Yaroslav Zheleznyak.

At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk refused to put the document to the vote, offering instead to discuss it at the conciliation council of faction leaders.

It will be recalled that on March 26, the Verkhovna Rada did not support the proposal to summon Defense Minister Rustem Umerov for a report on Ukraine’s negotiations with the United States, as well as, separately, the negotiations between the United States and Russia that took place in Riyadh. Only 135 deputies voted for this initiative.
