Revenue growth, profit fall: results of the first half of the year for “Kyivstar”, “Vodafone Ukraine” and lifecell

Mobile operators “Vodafone Ukraine” and lifecell demonstrated revenue growth for the first half of 2024, according to data from the YouControl system. At the same time, Kyivstar, the operator with the largest number of subscribers, which suffered a large-scale cyber attack in December 2023, showed a slight decrease in turnover.

The net income of “Kyivstar” for the first six months of 2024 decreased by 2.8% and amounted to UAH 16.3 billion, while the profit fell by 20.1% to UAH 4.6 billion. At the same time, according to the parent company Veon, in the second quarter of 2024, Kyivstar was able to increase revenue by 9.5% to UAH 9.4 billion.

The operator “Vodafone Ukraine” showed a 9.8% increase in revenue, up to UAH 10.9 billion, compared to the same period last year. However, the company’s profit decreased by 14.8% to UAH 1.9 billion.

Meanwhile, lifecell, which is currently in the process of being sold to the French company NJJ Capital, owned by billionaire Xavier Niel, increased its net income by 11.76% to UAH 6.3 billion, while profit increased by 7% to UAH 1.2 billion .

All major mobile operators of Ukraine have shown an increase in turnover according to the results of 2023. The largest growth was demonstrated by lifecell, which is in the process of being sold to NJJ Capital. Lifecell’s revenue grew by 24.4% from UAH 9.4 billion in 2022 to UAH 11.7 billion in 2023, according to YouControl data.

“Vodafone Ukraine” ended 2023 with a turnover of UAH 20.2 billion, which is 7.45% more compared to UAH 18.8 billion in 2022.

“Kyivstar”, the largest mobile operator of Ukraine, increased its turnover according to the results of 2023 by 6.8% to UAH 33.1 billion.
