Telegram and YouTube are the most popular news platforms among Ukrainians: survey

According to the results poll of the “Rating” sociological group, Telegram became the most popular source of information for 47% of Ukrainians. The second most popular is YouTube, which is used by 26% of respondents. The “Single news marathon” received the support of 21% of respondents, while 19% of respondents get information from eyewitnesses and acquaintances, as well as from official state sources. 16% of Ukrainians are interested in television channels other than “The Single Marathon”, 15% in Ukrainian online media, and 14% in international media.

The study also showed that 53% of Ukrainians consider social networks as the main source of disinformation, followed by messengers, including Telegram (35%), and television (32%). Disinformation is recognized as a serious problem by 89% of respondents: 56% of them consider it very serious, and 33% consider it rather serious. Only 10% do not consider the problem of fakes and disinformation to be significant.

It is worth noting that almost a quarter of Ukrainian refugees plan to settle abroad for a long time, as shown by a separate study of the Ifo Institute in Munich. At the same time, 79% of Ukrainians are not ready to move to the USA or the EU even if they obtain citizenship of these countries, although 19% of respondents expressed their readiness to move, which is slightly higher compared to September 2022.
