The city authorities of Kyiv appealed to the Main Department of the SBU in the city of Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as to the capital’s military command, with the demand to find out the legal grounds and organizational circumstances of the covert filming of the capital’s officials. About this reported Mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko.
“At the meeting of the Kyiv City Council, he commented on the information that was disseminated in the mass media and in anonymous telegram channels regarding an alleged celebration on the Day of Mourning. This information is manipulative and deliberately distorted. And it is another of the many attempts to discredit the city government. There was no celebration or any solemn event on that day!”, Klitschko noted.
He explained that in fact there was a planned work trip meeting at a critical infrastructure facility, after which there was a dinner.
“On the video, which was filmed around 19:00 (strangely entering the territory of a critical infrastructure object), there are no signs of celebration (no music, no fun). At the same time, the fact that the filming would have been impossible without the participation and assistance of law enforcement agencies attracts attention.” – emphasized Klitschko.
He also noted that “drones were used, the use of which requires a special permit under martial law conditions,” and “video and photography were conducted from a military boat.” According to him, “other surveillance measures were carried out, which, according to the law, must be subject to court orders.”
Klitschko noted that the city authorities turned to the State Security Service in Kyiv and the region, to the Commander of the City’s Forces and Defense Means Group, to the military commandant of the capital, the military commandant of the Kyiv region and the northern commandant of the Dnipro River “to find out all the circumstances regarding the legal grounds and organization and assistance in the filming of this “blockbuster”. He also stated that there are now “increasingly frantic attempts to block the work of the Kyiv Council – so that it does not meet and is incapacitated.”
“Searches, interrogations, intimidation of deputies, their public discrediting, manipulations and lies. Everything is being done to destroy local self-government in the city. To “bury” the choice of Kyivans, their right to self-government in their city, and subjugate the capital to the central government. In violation of all laws and the Constitution.”, – summarized Klitschko.
