The 112 service is expanding: where Ukrainians can get emergency help

The 112 emergency call service is actively expanding its activities to the central and eastern regions of Ukraine by opening a new communication center in Dnipro. About this reported Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko in Telegram.

During the operation of the center, its operators handled about 200,000 calls, of which almost 40,000 required an immediate response. Most of the cases related to reports of enemy shelling, road accidents, crimes and domestic violence, and among the callers were even children asking for help.

The new center in Dnipro serves calls from Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhia, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, where more than 70 operators work around the clock. In addition, the 112 service actively involves veterans: seven soldiers who were wounded at the front are already working in the center as operators, and the youngest of them is only 21 years old.

This is already the third 112 service center in Ukraine after Kyiv and Lviv. The next stage will be the opening of the center in Odesa, which will ensure coverage of the entire country with a single emergency service.

Thanks to the number 112, which allows prompt access to all services, Ukrainians receive comprehensive and affordable assistance, which is extremely important in the context of current security challenges. The 112 system is a reliable mechanism for quick response to situations that threaten health, life, property, the environment or public order, creating a new level of security for the population of Ukraine.
