President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi stated, that since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale aggression, 43,000 Ukrainian servicemen have died.
“Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Ukraine has lost 43,000 soldiers who died on the battlefield. 370,000 cases of providing assistance to the wounded, and this is taking into account that in our army, approximately 50 percent of the wounded return to the ranks, and all injuries, including minor and repeated ones, are recorded.
One of the key differences between the Russian army and the Defense Forces of Ukraine is the level of development of front-line medicine, which is much higher in our army. We in Ukraine are grateful for this to everyone who helps develop medicine in our army and rescues our wounded, carries out rehabilitation”, he said.
According to him, the losses of the Russian side exceed 750,000 people, including 198,000 dead and more than 550,000 wounded. Zelensky also noted that from September 2024, the ratio of losses on the battlefield is at least 5 to 1 in favor of Ukraine. In addition, the president reminded that thousands of Ukrainian soldiers and civilians remain in Russian captivity, some of whom have been held since 2014.
“Therefore, when we talk about effective peace with Russia, we must first of all talk about effective guarantees of peace. Ukrainians want peace more than anyone. Russia brought war to our land. And it is Russia that wants to disrupt the possibility of peace more than anyone… This is not to end with just a piece of paper and a few signatures. And the suspended fire can be rekindled at any moment, as Putin has already done.
In order to guarantee that there will be no more losses of Ukrainian men and women, it is necessary to guarantee the reliability of peace and not turn a blind eye to the occupation. We all know Putin very well – he is sick of wars. He began his career with a brutal war against Chechnya and continues to instigate other wars. It can be stopped only by force, the force of world leaders who can become leaders of peace. We are counting on America and the whole world to stop Putin. The only thing he fears is America and the unity of the world.” Zelensky emphasized.
