The Armed Forces of Ukraine captured two Chinese who fought on the side of the Russian Federation
The Ukrainian military in Donetsk captured two Chinese citizens who fought in the armed forces of the Russian Federation. About this reported Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
“Our military captured two Chinese citizens who fought in the Russian army. It happened on the territory of Ukraine – in Donetsk region. There are documents of these prisoners, bank cards, personal data.
We have information that there are much more than two such Chinese citizens in the units of the occupier. Now we are finding out all the facts. Intelligence, SBU, relevant units of the Armed Forces are working”, says the message.
The President instructed the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to immediately contact China to find out Beijing’s position on this situation. The prisoners are currently at the disposal of the Security Service of Ukraine. Zelensky emphasized that the fact of China’s involvement, directly or indirectly, in the war against Ukraine testifies to Putin’s intention to continue aggression.
“He is looking for ways to continue fighting. This definitely requires a reaction. A reaction from the United States, Europe and everyone in the world who wants peace.”, – the president noted.
Chinese soldiers were taken prisoner in Donetsk region in the Tarasivka and Bilogorivka areas during a battle in which six people of Chinese origin took part.
“This is another country that supports Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. This is another country after Iran and the military of North Korea. But there is a difference: the North Koreans fought against us in the Kursk region, the Chinese are fighting on the territory of Ukraine. I think this is an important point that we need to discuss with our partners.”, – concluded Zelensky.
