As a result of the repatriation measures, the bodies of 757 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine. About this informs Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Among the surrendered dead defenders are those who defended the positions in the Kurakhiv, Pokrovsky, Bakhmut, Vugledar, Luhansk and Zaporizhzhya directions.
The return of the fallen soldiers was made possible thanks to the joint work of the staff of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, the Central Department of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Joint Center under the SBU, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Commissioner of the Verkhovna Rada for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for the Issues of Persons Disappeared Under Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service, etc.
“Special thanks to the personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who carry out the transportation of repatriated fallen Heroes to designated state specialized institutions, organize the transfer of the deceased to representatives of law enforcement agencies in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and forensic medical examination in the system of the Ministry of Health”, – noted in the headquarters.
Investigators, together with experts from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, will establish the identities of the dead as soon as possible.
