The bodies of 909 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine

The bodies of 909 fallen defenders were returned to Ukraine as part of the repatriation measures, informs Coordinating Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.
Among the dead are defenders who were laid to rest in the Kurakhiv, Pokrovsky, Bakhmut, Vugledar, Luhansk, and Zaporizhia directions, as well as bodies that were in morgues on the territory of the Russian Federation.
The return of the fallen was made possible thanks to the coordinated work of the Coordination Headquarters, the Joint Center under the Security Service of Ukraine, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Office of the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights, the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Missing Persons in Special Circumstances, the State Emergency Service and other structures of the Security and Defense Sector.
The coordination headquarters thanked the International Committee of the Red Cross for its support, and also expressed special gratitude to the servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who carry out the transportation of bodies to designated state institutions, hand them over to representatives of law enforcement agencies in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and forensic medical examination in the system of the Ministry of Health.
The identity of each of the heroes will be established by law enforcement officers together with specialists of expert institutions in the shortest possible time.
We will remind that on March 22, Minister of Internal Affairs Ihor Klymenko and Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko agreed on a joint action plan regarding the process of repatriation and identification of the bodies of the dead. As Klymenko noted, this issue requires coordinated interaction between all responsible structures, because even in wartime, the state must ensure the dignified return of fallen soldiers to their families.
