The Cabinet of Ministers approved a bill to increase fines for parking in spaces for people with disabilities

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the draft law, which provides for an increase in fines for parking in places designated for persons with disabilities. About this reported representative of the government in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk.
“The project of the law “On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses to Strengthen Liability for Violation of the Rules of Stopping, Parking and Parking in Places for Persons with Disabilities” was approved., – noted Melnychuk.
The draft law provides for amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses in order to increase fines for violations of the rules for stopping, parking and parking vehicles in specially marked places for persons with disabilities.
This refers to cases when vehicles stop or park in areas marked with appropriate signs or markings, which are intended exclusively for cars driven by drivers with disabilities or those who transport them, except for a forced stop. Liability for creating obstacles for such drivers at a stop or parking lot is also provided.
If the Verkhovna Rada approves the draft law, the amount of the fine for unreasonable use of these parking spaces will be 300 tax-free minimums, i.e. 5100 hryvnias.
In addition, the document regulates the obligation of drivers with disabilities or those who transport people with disabilities to install a “Driver with a disability” recognition sign on the car together with a unique electronic identifier in the form of a QR code, which confirms the presence of a disability.
