The Cabinet of Ministers clarified the reporting rules for mining companies

At the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced clarifications to the requirements for reporting payments that mining companies pay to the state, as well as for reports on the receipt of such funds to the budget. About it on April 9 reported Ministry of Energy

The department noted that the goal of the changes is to bring the reporting system in line with the provisions of the law “On ensuring transparency in extractive industries” (IPVG) and the international standard of IPVG.

“In particular, companies now have to indicate whether the ultimate beneficiary belongs to politically significant persons,” – the ministry explained.

Also, a new form of reporting was introduced – on production volumes by region. In addition, the reports can include payments in kind, as well as detail taxes, including rent, land tax and environmental tax, by individual communities.

“These changes should make the mining industry more open and accountable, which will contribute to the fight against corruption, improvement of the investment climate and dialogue with the public and authorities”, – emphasized the Ministry of Energy.

We will remind that on April 3, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, together with the European Commission, held discussions on the integration of Ukraine into the EU energy markets in the areas of renewable energy and the production of renewable gases. In particular, attention was focused on the measures envisaged by the project of the Roadmap for the development of RES, prepared by the European Commission, as well as on the implementation of its provisions in the spheres of biomethane, hydrogen and other synthetic gases.
