Zelensky called on the ministers to find a solution without putting pressure on legal business

President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that during the meeting with government officials and deputies, it was possible to reach important agreements on supporting economic activity, preserving jobs and strengthening the fight against the shadow economy, without putting pressure on “white” business. About this it is said in the official message of the Office of the President.

“We held a detailed meeting with government and parliamentary representatives, discussing several key issues. We plan to make decisions that will help support our Defense Forces, as well as contribute to economic growth in the country. Our goal is not only to save jobs, but also to give the Ukrainian economy more opportunities for development”, — noted Zelensky.

The President emphasized that these issues became especially relevant after his meetings with entrepreneurs in different regions of the country. The government will present details of these decisions as soon as they are finalized.

“We have already agreed with the government: ministers will actively look for alternative approaches that will not create additional pressure on legal business. In addition, we have planned additional measures to combat the shadow economy.”, — added Zelensky.

At the same time, Kyiv is actively discussing the possibility of raising taxes in Ukraine. The head of the Verkhovna Rada’s Budget Committee, Roksolana Pidlas, noted that if this is not done, the military may be left without payments already at the end of September.

Against the backdrop of the war, Ukraine is facing the largest budget deficit in the world, with government spending twice as high as revenue. According to Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko, this year’s budget deficit may reach almost a quarter of GDP, which is equivalent to 43.5 billion dollars.
