The Cabinet of Ministers has settled the issue of discounts in pharmacies

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the decision to settle the issue of discounts in pharmacies on drugs for patients and individual programs of access to drugs. About this informs press center of the government.

“From March 1, new rules for the regulation of the pharmaceutical market will enter into force in Ukraine, which, in particular, limit marketing payments to pharmacies. However, in Ukraine, a practice has developed where many patient support programs work precisely through the mechanisms of marketing payments. Therefore, after a dialogue with drug manufacturers, we are adjusting government decisions in such a way as to preserve these patient support programs.”, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal noted.

The Cabinet of Ministers approved changes to Resolution No. 955 of October 17, 2008 “On Measures to Stabilize the Prices of Medicines and Medical Products”, which were agreed with drug manufacturers and will allow to settle issues related to the operation of patient support programs.

“The government adopted a resolution that provides conditions for all socially oriented programs to continue working in the usual mode for the benefit of our citizens. At the same time, I hope that these prices will be used by manufacturers during the negotiation procedure for procurement under managed access contracts, which will enable the state to cover the need for these innovative drugs with the funds of the state budget.”, – emphasized Minister of Health Viktor Lyashko.
