The Cabinet of Ministers initiates strengthening control over the screening of films

The Cabinet of Ministers proposed to the Verkhovna Rada to strengthen responsibility for violations of the rules of distribution and screening of films. About this reported representative of the government in the parliament Taras Melnychuk.

“The draft law is aimed at bringing the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses into compliance with the Law “On Cinematography” and the Regulations on the State Register of Films regarding the conditions of distribution and screening of national films.” – says the message.

The bill provides for the introduction of fines for violating the rules of showing national films during the use of national screen time, for showing tapes not entered in the State Register of Films, as well as for violating the legislation on cinematography.

The amount of fines will vary from one to two thousand tax-free minimum incomes of citizens, and in case of repeated violations – from two to three thousand such minimums.
