The Security Service of Ukraine managed to prevent four terrorist acts, which the attackers planned to carry out on May 9. Russian intelligence is involved in the organization of crimes. Terrorist attacks were planned in places of mass gathering of people – in shops and coffee shops.
“As a result of a multi-stage special operation in the capital, agents of the Russian game were detained, who installed explosive devices in construction hypermarkets of a well-known chain and near one of the cafes,” the SBU reported.
In the case of the hypermarket chain, terrorists disguised explosive devices as tea boxes.
“According to the plan of the Russian special services, the explosives were to be detonated during the peak hours of hypermarkets in order to cause maximum damage to the civilian population. In addition, it was planned to be placed among flammable materials – so that such a fire could not be extinguished quickly,” the Security Service of Ukraine notes.
The explosives for carrying out a terrorist attack near the coffee shop were placed in a car that was parked nearby. All explosive devices were neutralized, and those involved in the planned terrorist attacks were detained.
