Not only citizens will save electricity. The Cabinet of Ministers obliges all state authorities to save. Now officials have to abandon air conditioners, external lighting of buildings and the surrounding area. The corresponding decision was made during the government meeting.
“All state authorities are tasked with reducing electricity consumption. We are adopting the relevant Government order today. Ministries, central bodies of executive power, regional state administrations must abandon the use of air conditioners, external lighting of buildings and the surrounding area.” – said the head of the Cabinet of Ministers Denis Shmigal.
In addition, the Cabinet of Ministers recommended reducing electricity consumption in courts and law enforcement agencies. The local authorities were ordered to save money on street lighting.
Shmyhal appealed to entrepreneurs to save as well.
“We urge businesses to also limit the use of air conditioners and other energy-intensive equipment that is not critical for production,” said the head of government.
However, they will not be required to reduce the amount of electricity used at enterprises where air conditioning must be provided due to the peculiarities of the production process. In addition, air conditioners will work in hospitals.
