The Cabinet of Ministers proposes changes to social protection for military personnel

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine submitted to the Verkhovna Rada the draft law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regarding Social Protection of Basic Military Servicemen, Members of Their Families and Other Matters”. About this reported representative of the government in the parliament, Taras Melnychuk.
The document provides for the settlement of issues related to the social protection of conscript and basic military servicemen, as well as their family members. For this purpose, amendments to the Code of Labor Laws of Ukraine are proposed.
The project also provides for the adjustment of the provisions of the laws “On vacations”, “On social and legal protection of servicemen and their family members”, “On pension provision of persons released from military service and certain other persons”, “On universally obligatory state social insurance in case of unemployment”, “On universally obligatory state pension insurance” and “On collection and accounting of a single contribution to universally obligatory state social insurance”. social insurance”.
In addition, the draft law proposes to exclude from the law “On social and legal protection of military personnel and members of their families” the norms relating to the grounds for dismissal from military service, as well as the provisions that grant persons with religious beliefs that prevent them from completing military service, the right to alternative (non-military) service. It is proposed to bring these issues out of the scope of regulation of the relevant law.
The project also proposes establishing a six-day work week with one day off for cadets and trainees of higher military educational institutions, military units in higher education institutions and institutions of professional pre-higher military education.
The right to leave for servicemen released from captivity is regulated separately in a special period – from the moment mobilization is announced until the start of martial law, as well as during martial law or until the decision on demobilization is made.
