The Cabinet of Ministers will allow the use of wood from forests affected by fires for the construction of fortifications in the frontline regions. About this reported Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal following the results of a meeting with government officials in the Donetsk region.
“Fortifications and needs of the military. They discussed the possibility of using wood from the forests affected by fires in the region for defense purposes. The Ministry of the Environment is preparing relevant solutions”, Shmyhal said.
He also reminded that the preparation of the compensation mechanism for farmers for the use of their land for fortifications is underway.
“According to the proposal of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy, a mechanism is being developed to compensate farmers for the land on which the fortifications are located. Russia must compensate for these losses. I have given an order to assess the possibility of entering a corresponding item in the register of losses.”, – noted the Prime Minister.
We will remind you that in October 2024, the government approved a draft law that allows for the temporary compulsory withdrawal of the right to use land plots for the construction and maintenance of engineering and fortification structures during martial law.
