The higher anti-corruption court made a decision regarding the deputy prosecutor of the Zaporizhzhya region, choosing a preventive measure for her in the form of detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of 8 million hryvnias. About this informs National Anti-Corruption Bureau.
“VAKS chose a precautionary measure in the form of detention of the deputy head of the Zaporizhia Regional Prosecutor’s Office, who was exposed for receiving $40,000 in illegal benefits”, the message reads.
According to the investigation, the official demanded money from the representative of the legal entity in exchange for certain “services”, namely, changing the jurisdiction of the criminal proceedings to another law enforcement body, canceling the seizure of property imposed within the framework of these proceedings, as well as providing guarantees that the person involved in the case will not brought to criminal liability.
The court determined that a bail of 8 million hryvnias can be an alternative to detention.
