Increased control over driving tests: some test results are annulled
In Ukraine, significant changes are being prepared to the procedure for passing the exams for obtaining a driver’s license. The new rules are aimed at increasing the transparency and objectivity of the assessment of future drivers, covering both the theoretical and practical parts of the exams.
In accordance with draft order The Ministry of Internal Affairs, published on the official website of the department, strengthens control over the testing process and introduces new requirements for the equipment of vehicles used during practical exams.
Stricter rules for the theoretical exam
During the theory test, candidates for driver’s licenses will no longer be able to communicate with each other in any form. The use of any information sources, including communications and devices for reading or reproducing data, will be strictly prohibited. Violation of these rules will lead to the automatic cancellation of the theoretical exam results.
After the exams are completed, candidates will be required to personally familiarize themselves with the results and confirm them with their signature in a special examination letter. This innovation is designed to prevent possible disputes about the results in the future.
Changes in practical exams
The practical part of the exams will also undergo changes. Category B vehicles used for the examinations will be equipped with at least four technical controls. For vehicles of other categories (С, С1, D, D1, БЕ, СЕ, С1Е, DE and D1Е) it will be mandatory to have at least three such vehicles. This innovation aims to provide a more objective assessment of the driving skills of candidates.
