The court extended the arrest of the head of the headquarters of the Anti-Terrorist Center at the SBU

Kyiv Court of Appeal left the chief of staff of the Anti-Terrorist Center under the SBU, who is suspected of cooperation with the FSB of Russia, is in custody until April 11.

“The panel of judges decided: the appeal of the defense attorney in the interests of the suspect should be dismissed, and the ruling of the investigating judge of the Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Kyiv dated February 13, 2025 — unchanged.” — specified in the operative part of the decision.

During the meeting, the lawyers requested to change the preventive measure from detention to 24-hour house arrest, citing the suspect’s state of health and the need for constant medication. The defense emphasized that staying in the pre-trial detention center without proper medical care could endanger his life and health.

In addition, the lawyers stated that the risks of obstructing the investigation or committing other crimes are only formal and not supported by actual data. They also indicated that the provided materials do not contain evidence that the suspect carried out any actions aimed at committing other criminal offenses.

In its appeal, the defense emphasized that the suspect had not previously been held criminally liable, has a permanent place of residence, supports parents of retirement age, has a higher education and worked for a long time in the Security Service of Ukraine, where he repeatedly received honors and awards.

We will remind that on February 12, an operational-investigative group led by the head of the SBU, Vasyl Malyuk, detained the head of the staff of the Anti-Terrorist Center of the SBU, Dmytro Kozyura. He is suspected of working for the FSB of the Russian Federation.
