Russian attack on Pavlograd: dozens of victims, including children

Russian troops launched a rocket attack on Pavlograd with five ballistic missiles, as a result of which one civilian was killed and dozens of people were injured. According to the latest official data, the number of victims exceeds 50 people, including children.

Serhiy Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, said that among the victims were children aged 4, 9 and 11. All three are in hospital in critical condition, where they are receiving the necessary medical assistance. In total, several dozen victims remain in the hospital, two of whom are in serious condition.

“Already half a hundred victims. The oldest is 86 years old. The youngest is 4. Everyone is being provided with the necessary assistance. Local homes have been damaged. The consequences are still being clarified.”, – wrote Lysak in Telegram.

In addition to the injured, it is known about the death of one civilian. The tragedy occurred as a result of a direct hit to residential buildings, where fires also broke out. Rescuers promptly arrived at the scene and were able to extinguish the flames. In particular, an apartment caught fire in one of the high-rise buildings, where five people were rescued.

The operation to evacuate residents of the affected areas continues. Authorities are urging people to stay safe and take shelter immediately during air alerts.

At the time of the attack, an air alert was declared in several regions of Ukraine — Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Sumy, and Donetsk. According to preliminary data, Russian troops used ballistic missiles.

Official sources report that the rocket that hit Pavlograd came from the direction of Donetsk region. At the time of the attack, the military warned of a high-speed target heading for the city. Later, another similar target was recorded in the Kharkiv region, which was also headed in the direction of Pavlograd.
