The court hearing in the case of People’s Deputy Tyshchenko continued in Dnipro

June 26 in the Shevchenkiv District Court of Dnipro continued the hearing of the case involving People’s Deputy Mykola Tyshchenko and former policeman Bohdan Pisarenko. They are accused of illegally detaining Dmytro Mazokha, a former member of the Kraken special unit of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.

The court continued to examine the evidence, in particular, it watched a video recording of the moment when Tyshchenko broke his phone during the handing over of the suspicion. Back on June 4, Bohdan Pysarenko’s lawyer appealed to the court to allow his client to participate in the hearings remotely. He explained that personal presence in the court creates difficulties due to the great distance from Bila Tserkva, where Pysarenko lives, and significant expenses of time and money for travel. In addition, the lawyer reported receiving threats against the accused.

“Actually, there is a certain lack of action by public investigation bodies and law enforcement agencies. The person who threatened the accused with a weapon has not been detained, therefore the accused Pisarenka is objectively in danger every time he comes to the city of Dnipro.” – emphasized the human rights defender.

At the end of the hearing, the court granted the request of Pysarenko’s defense and allowed him to participate in the sessions in an online format. The case was adjourned until June 26.

We will remind, on May 12, 2025, Tyshchenko and Pisarenko were assigned night house arrest – from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., which will last until July 12.

On June 25, 2024, the Prosecutor General declared Mykola Tyshchenko a suspect in the case of illegal imprisonment of a former serviceman in Dnipro. This happened after a video appeared on social networks, showing people in balaclavas and khaki clothes detaining a civilian man on the street and causing him bodily harm. In another video, which recorded the beginning of the incident, the People’s Deputy Tyshchenko himself is visible.

Later, it turned out that the man in civilian clothes is Dmytro Mazokha, a former fighter of the Kraken unit. The press service of the special unit confirmed his identity and service in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
