Defense Minister of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov and his Danish colleague Troels Lund Poulsen signed A letter of intent opening opportunities for joint production of Ukrainian weapons on the territory of Denmark. The document provides for the placement of Ukrainian defense enterprises in Denmark and the integration of the defense sectors of both countries.
As part of this initiative, the Danish government allocates 500 million Danish kroner to speed up the start-up of Ukrainian production. These are the first steps towards the practical implementation of a long-term defense partnership between Ukraine and Denmark. All production facilities created within the framework of the agreements will work to strengthen Ukraine’s defense capabilities.
“This document is the first step in the implementation of the Build with Ukraine initiative, work on which we started during the previous meeting in the Rammstein format”, – emphasized the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov.
He added that this strategic decision strengthens joint defense capabilities, improves supply chains, opens up new technological opportunities and promotes the integration of the defense systems of the two countries.
The Minister of Defense of Denmark also emphasized the importance of the signed agreement:
“By giving Ukrainian defense companies the opportunity to start production in Denmark, we are creating a basis for close cooperation between the defense companies of both countries. It will also provide the Danish Armed Forces with access to the latest technologies and experience of Ukraine.”
The signing of the document took place during the NATO summit in The Hague, where one of the key topics was the development of the defense potential of the partner countries. The agreement also provides for coordination between the Danish Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Business and Industry and the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the integration of Ukrainian enterprises into the European defense ecosystem.
