Due to the aggravation of the situation in the Sumy region, mandatory evacuation has been announced in 8 settlements

At a meeting of the Defense Council of the Sumy region, a decision was made on the mandatory evacuation of residents from eight settlements of the Yunakiv and Myropil communities of the Sumy district. About this informs Volodymyr Artyukh, head of the Sumy OVA.

At present, the activity of enemy subversive groups has increased in the border areas, and the number of attacks by air weapons – controlled air bombs and FPV drones – has also increased.

“Due to the aggravation of the operational situation on the territory of the region, constant fire damage from the Russian Federation and with the aim of preserving the lives of the civilian population of the region, today at a meeting of the Regional Defense Council, at the request of the military leadership, a decision was made to carry out the mandatory evacuation of the population from 8 settlements of the Yunakiv and Myropol territorial communities of the Sumy district. In the near future, it will be necessary to evacuate 543 people, including children.” – the message says.

Artyukh also noted that some residents refuse to evacuate and do not plan to leave their homes. The head of the OVA urges citizens to take care of their safety and leave dangerous areas. The National Police, the State Emergency Service and the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be involved in the evacuation.
