The director of the Kyiv City State Administration department was informed of suspicion of official negligence

The director of one of the departments of the Kyiv City Council (KMDA) was informed of suspicion of official negligence, as a result of which more than 4.8 million hryvnias were overpaid during the purchase of diesel generators in the period from January to April 2023. About this informs Office of the Prosecutor General.
The investigation established that the employees responsible for the purchase, who were subordinate to the director, did not carry out proper market monitoring during the wholesale purchase of generators. Although price requests were directed to three companies, open sources indicate that there were offers on the market with lower prices.
In particular, some generators were purchased at a price of over 390,000 hryvnias per unit, while their market value could be 320,000 hryvnias. Another batch was purchased for almost 90 thousand per unit, despite the presence of offers at the level of 76 thousand hryvnias.
The examination confirmed that as a result of purchases at inflated prices, the budget of Kyiv suffered losses of more than 4.8 million hryvnias. The actions of the official are qualified under Part 2 Art. 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Prosecutors have already prepared a petition to the court to remove the official from his duties.
The pre-trial investigation is carried out under the procedural guidance of the Podilsk District Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Kyiv by the investigators of the police department in the metro station of the State Police Department in the city of Kyiv under operational support of the Security Service of Ukraine in the city of Kyiv and Kyiv region.
