The European Council, based on the results of the summit held in Brussels, urged to the immediate strengthening of military support to Ukraine. In particular, it is about the supply of air defense systems, ammunition and missiles.
“The European Council reviewed the work done on providing military support to Ukraine. In order to help Ukraine effectively defend itself against Russian aggression, the European Council calls for an urgent increase in efforts, in particular for the supply of air defense systems, ammunition and missiles, as well as for the provision of necessary training and equipment for Ukrainian brigades., the document says.
In addition, the EU leaders emphasized the importance of intensifying work on strengthening the defense industry of Ukraine and its closer cooperation with European defense structures. The Council reminded of the importance of implementing all aspects of the G7 initiative “Emergency Loans to Accelerate Ukraine’s Incomes”, in particular its military component, and called for the speedy implementation of decisions within the framework of the European Peace Fund.
Attention was also focused on the need to speed up work on strengthening the EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine. All military aid measures must take into account the security and defense policy of the EU member states, ensuring the protection of their interests.
