The General Inspectorate of the UCP reported the suspicion to two prosecutors

General Inspection of the Office of the Prosecutor General reported about the suspicion of two prosecutors: one — the deputy head of the district prosecutor’s office in Chernihiv region, the other — the former first deputy head of the district prosecutor’s office in Cherkasy region.
According to the General Inspectorate, the deputy head of the district prosecutor’s office of Chernihiv region is suspected of organizing the theft of particularly important materials of criminal proceedings by forging official documents (Part 3 of Article 27, Part 2 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 357, Part 5 of Article 27, Part 1 of Article 366 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation believes that the prosecutor organized the theft of materials in the case of the illegal acquisition of state agricultural lands by officials of a large agricultural holding in the region.
In the interests of this enterprise, the documentation related to land management, privatization and alienation of land was stolen, precisely at the stage of their transfer for expert analysis. During 2023-2024, the suspect, according to the investigation, gave verbal instructions to investigators and investigators of one of the district police departments to seize original documents from notaries and state authorities.
The consequence of such actions was that instead of a complete set of documentation, a box with periodicals, which was prepaid by the district prosecutor’s office, was delivered to the expert institution. To mask this fact, the prosecutor together with an accomplice forged a cover letter that was supposed to create the impression that the documents were in the possession of experts. The legal qualification of actions will be determined after the completion of all investigative procedures.
The former first deputy head of the district prosecutor’s office of the Cherkasy region is suspected of abuse of influence and disclosure of pre-trial investigation data (Part 2 of Article 369-2, Part 2 of Article 387 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The investigation established that this prosecutor, acting in the interests of an acquaintance, turned to the investigator with a request to open proceedings and conduct procedural actions — in particular, questioning people and seizing documents. In the future, this data was transferred to the interested party, which in fact means the disclosure of the secret of the investigation. For this, the prosecutor received an illegal benefit. As established, he deliberately used his connections in the police and official authority to promote the interests of a private person, which was accompanied by personal enrichment.
Both prosecutors have been petitioned for preventive measures. The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the State Bureau of Investigation.
