The heads of the foreign ministries of EU countries, led by Kallas, arrived in Ukraine.

On May 9, on the occasion of Europe Day, the ministers of foreign affairs of the member states of the European Union, headed by the High Representative of the EU for foreign policy and security Kaya Callas, arrived in Ukraine. “Welcome, friends. This is a historic gathering in a historic time. It reflects Ukraine’s key role in protecting European freedom and values,” – noted the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Sybiga, the European delegation started their visit from the Field of Mars at the Lychakiv cemetery, honoring the memory of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers.
Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Kaya Kallas, during which the parties discussed further support for Ukraine, increasing sanctions pressure on Russia and advancing the process of Ukraine’s accession to the European Union.
“Today we celebrate Europe Day together with Ukraine and its people. Because in the family, joys and difficulties are shared. Together with the ministers of foreign affairs, we are united with Ukraine for the sake of lasting peace. For the future we believe in.”, – stressed Kallas.
Andrii Sybiga also announced two key events: a meeting of EU foreign ministers and a meeting of the Core Group of the Special Tribunal regarding the crime of aggression against Ukraine. Among the participants of the event is the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany, Johann Wadeful, who visited Ukraine for the first time.
