The investigation into the bribery of $30,000 for the position of the director of Rye Market in Kyiv has been completed (video)

Since November 2022, the suspect, together with 5 accomplices, has been on trial in the case of receiving 1.39 million hryvnias of illegal benefits.

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) completed the investigation into a former deputy of the Kyiv City Council, who held the position of chairman of one of the permanent commissions, and his accomplices on suspicion of receiving a bribe for the appointment of a person to the position of deputy director, and later – director of KP “Rye Market”. The investigation established that in March 2021, after an interview with the candidate in the premises of his antique shop, a deputy of the Kyiv City Council veiledly announced that the cost of the appointment was 30,000 US dollars. The deputy’s assistant clarified that this amount includes only the appointment to the position, and further calculations will be made depending on the situation.

In June 2024, the ex-deputy of the Kyiv City Council, his former assistant and another person close to him were informed of the suspicion. Qualification of the crime: Part 4 of Article 368, Part 5 of Article 27, Part 4 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

A special pre-trial investigation was conducted regarding the ex-deputy of the Kyiv City Council due to his stay on the international wanted list since June 2023. In addition, since November 2022, the suspect, together with five accomplices, has been on trial in the case of receiving 1.39 million hryvnias of illegal benefits for placing points of seasonal mobile trade in the capital.
