The investigation of the case of the ex-head of the Court of Appeal of Cherkasy region has been completed
NABU and SAP completed the investigation into the former chairman of the Court of Appeal of the Cherkasy region, who is suspected of embezzlement of real estate worth more than 15 million hryvnias. About this reported the press service of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, without naming the person involved.

“The prosecutor of the SAP decided to complete the pre-trial investigation in the case concerning the former chairman of the Court of Appeal of the Cherkasy region. Today, on the instructions of the prosecutor, NABU detectives have opened the case materials to the defense for perusal.” – said in the message of the SAP.
According to the version of the investigation, the former head of the appeals court carried out actions aimed at the illegal alienation of the object of communal real estate, transferred to the operational management of the court for use, but with a ban on its alienation.
Despite this, the suspect tried to transfer the property, worth more than 15 million hryvnias, to one of the local private enterprises. His actions were terminated for reasons beyond his control, which made it impossible to complete the crime.
In June 2022, Babenka was declared a suspect for h. 2 Art. 15 and h. 5th century 191 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. At the same time, according to the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is considered innocent of committing a crime until his guilt is proven in court and confirmed by a guilty verdict.
