The Metinvest Group, within the framework of Rinat Akhmetov’s “Steel Front” initiative, created the first underground stabilization hospital for defenders in Ukraine, which is located near the front line. The project was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and Medical Forces “East”. This steel hospital, designed on the basis of specially designed steel bunkers, provides resuscitation, treatment and support for patients until their evacuation or discharge, and operates in conditions of maximum safety for both medical staff and patients. Steel bunkers – “hideouts” developed and modernized by Metinvest in accordance with the requirements of military medics became the base for the hospital. The equipment of the hospital meets the NATO standards for field hospitals of the second echelon (Role/Echelon 2). Metinvest’s investment in this unique project exceeded 20 million hryvnias.

The hospital is equipped with modern medical equipment, including oxygen concentrators, ventilators, cardiac monitors, defibrillators, operating equipment, patient heating systems and medical furniture, the total cost of which exceeds UAH 7 million.

The hospital consists of six enlarged steel bunkers equipped with ventilation, water supply, drainage and energy supply systems. In addition, it is equipped with powerful electronic warfare systems and alternative power sources, which makes it extremely stable and reliable in combat conditions.
