The Kremlin responded to Zelensky’s proposal for a 30-day truce

Moscow insists on a three-day ceasefire until May 9 and expects an official response from Kyiv, while it does not plan to extend the truce for up to 30 days. This was stated by Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov.

Commenting on the proposal of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi to establish a 30-day truce, Peskov noted that this is impossible without the settlement of all related issues.

“We have seen, but if we talk about such a long-term cessation, then the nuances that Putin talked about in the Kremlin are important. This is also important, but without answers to these questions it is difficult to go to such a long-term truce.”, – he explained.

Peskov called “manipulation” the fact that Kyiv does not provide a direct response to the Russian initiative regarding the three-day truce.

We will remind that on April 28, Vladimir Putin announced the cessation of hostilities from May 8 to 10 and called for a complete cessation of hostilities during this period. In response, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, stated that only a complete and unconditional ceasefire for at least 30 days can become the basis for a real diplomatic process.

“Now here is another attempt at manipulation: for some reason, everyone should wait for May 8 and only then stop firing. To ensure Putin’s silence during the parade. We value people’s lives, not parades. That is why we believe that the world believes that there is no reason to wait for May 8. And the fire should not be stopped for a few days, only to kill again later.” – noted Zelensky.
