The Main Intelligence Directorate revealed the probable number of new ballistic missiles in Russia

Russia probably has up to ten units of the new ballistic missile it used in the strike on the Dnipro as part of its tests. About this reported Deputy Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Vadym Skibitskyi. According to him, at least ten tests need to be conducted to start serial production of this missile.

“If it is a research and combat use, then there will be at least ten missiles. In order to launch a missile into mass production, you need to conduct at least ten tests. We saw this on the sea-based Bulava, when half of the launches were successful and half were unsuccessful.”, – noted Skibitskyi.

Debris of the rocket and elements of telemetry, which were used to collect data on all parameters of its flight, were found at the landing site. This shows that Russia has conducted test use of the new missile complex in real combat conditions.

Skibitskyi also said that in 2018-2019, Russia started the “Kedr RV” program to create a missile complex that would replace the RS-24 “Yars” — a system that has been on combat duty since the time of the USSR. The first tests of the rocket of the new complex took place in June 2021 at the Plesetsk cosmodrome, but the Cedar project was later suspended.

According to him, the “Oreshnyk” rocket can be part of the “Kedr” project and probably involves the creation of a mobile system that does not require a mine base. Skibitsky emphasized that the development of such a complex indicates Russia’s desire to update its missile arsenal in order to maintain strategic parity.
