The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk promises to mobilize violators for throwing bulky waste into the landfill

The mayor of Ivano-Frankivsk, Ruslan Martsinkiv, and his team toured the city, during which they discovered the problem of illegal disposal of bulky waste in landfills. Particular attention was paid to cases when violators bring garbage in minibuses and throw it in places not designated for this purpose. As informs “Halka”, the city authorities decided to fight this problem with unusual methods – with the help of mobilization measures.

During his speech on radio “Zachidny Pole” on September 3, Ruslan Martsinkiv said that the inspection covered such streets as Belvederska, Tychyny, Karpatska and Berehova. It was on these streets that violations related to the throwing of garbage from the busses were detected.

“We will apply unusual measures. Including with law enforcement agencies, involvement of mobilization measures, so that people understand that it is impossible to throw away large-sized garbage in whole beads. There is a place on Maksymovich where you can rent. There is a landfill. Sorry, but we have to take such measures”, said the mayor.

According to him, the situation with illegal dumping of garbage complicates the work of communal services, which are forced to deal with overloading of garbage containers and chaotic landfills that appear on the streets of the city. The mayor also drew attention to the fact that the Ivano-Frankivsk region lags behind in mobilization indicators, according to information from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, so the authorities intend to strengthen control over compliance with the rules in the city.

In addition, Ruslan Martsinkiv urged the residents of Ivano-Frankivsk to be responsible for throwing away garbage, as the city has all the necessary infrastructure facilities for proper waste disposal.
