The United States calls on Ukraine to lower the mobilization age from 25 to 18 years: the OP reacted

Ukraine should consider lowering the minimum age for mobilization from 25 to 18. This opinion is expressed in the US administration, about what informs Reuters.

According to the agency, the US insists on strengthening the Ukrainian armed forces in the confrontation with Russia. The administration of President Joe Biden, whose term of office is coming to an end, is calling on Kyiv to lower the conscription age in order to increase the reserve of the fighting population, a representative of the American authorities said.

Senior officials of the US administration expressed concern about the pace of mobilization in Ukraine. In their opinion, Ukraine is not mobilizing enough new military personnel to compensate for losses at the front. Meanwhile, Russian troops are showing significant progress in hostilities in the east of the country.

At these appeals of Western partners reacted Dmytro Lytvyn, adviser to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

“It does not make sense to demand a lowering of the mobilization age in Ukraine in order to draft more people, when we see that the previously announced equipment is not arriving on time. Because of these delays, Ukraine does not have the weapons to supply the already mobilized soldiers.”, he noted.
