The Ministry of Culture confirmed the critical importance of a number of media, theaters and circuses for booking employees

The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine officially admitted a number of media and cultural institutions are critically important for the economy of the country and the life of the population in a special period.

According to the orders of the Ministry of Culture, issued in the period from February 28 to March 6, the list of such institutions included the Ukrainian Cultural Fund (UKF), TV channels TET, 2+2, Kyivstar TV and Viasat. The companies “Vizhn TV”, “Vizhn Technologies”, “1+1 Internet”, “Klever YuA” and “TRK PiTV” (Poltava Television) also received this status. They were recognized as critically important not only for the information space, but also for meeting the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other military formations.

In addition, this status has been confirmed for a number of leading art and educational institutions. They include:

  • Ivano-Frankivsk National Academic Drama Theater named after Ivan Franko
  • National Academic Drama Theater named after Lesya Ukrainka
  • Lviv National Music Academy named after M. IN. Lysenko
  • Kharkiv National University of Arts named after AND. P. Kotlyarevsky
  • Kyiv State Academy of Decorative and Applied Arts and Design named after M. Boychuk
  • Lviv State Music Lyceum named after Solomiya Krushelnytska
  • Kyiv State Professional Choreographic College named after Tatiana Tayakina

National music and choreographic groups also received the status of critical importance, in particular:

  • National Honored Academic Ukrainian Folk Choir named after G. G. ropes
  • National Honored Academic Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine
  • Ivano-Frankivsk National Academic Hutsul Song and Dance Ensemble “Hutsuliya”
  • National Chamber Ensemble “Kyiv Soloists”

In addition, the Lviv State Circus, the Kryvyi Rih State Circus and the Mobile Circus of Ukraine are recognized as critically important among circus institutions.

The government decided on the need to confirm this status every quarter. Under the changes, which came into effect in November 2024, businesses applying for reservation of workers against mobilization must meet certain criteria. In particular, the average salary of employees subject to reservation must be at least 20,000 hryvnias per month.

Earlier, the Ministry of Culture already recognized such media as “1+1”, “Pryamiy”, “Inter”, ICTV, STB, “Novy Kanal”, “5 Channel”, as well as the information resources of “Ukrinform”, “Belsat”, Sky News and the program “The World Inside Out” as critically important.
