France will provide Ukraine with a €200 million grant for infrastructure rehabilitation

Ukraine and France have taken an important step in the direction of restoring Ukrainian infrastructure by signing a grant agreement for 200 million euros. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyridenko informed about this. This financial support from France aims to contribute to the economic recovery of Ukraine through the implementation of important projects in several key sectors.

According to the terms of the agreement, funding will be directed to the reconstruction of health care, improvement of energy infrastructure, modernization of water supply, implementation of demining programs, development of digital technologies and housing construction. Special attention is also paid to agriculture, waste processing and rehabilitation of housing stock, which are critically important for ensuring stability and economic growth.

The ceremony of signing the agreement took place with the participation of Ukrainian representatives and the Ambassador of France to Ukraine, Gael Vaissiere. It is important to note that this agreement continues the political steps reached during the meeting between Presidents Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Emmanuel Macron in June this year.

One of the features of the grant is that up to half of the total amount can be directed to the purchase of Ukrainian goods and services, which will further stimulate the national economy. The rest of the funds will be allocated to projects that will be implemented by French companies, and the French side will determine the priorities and directions of funding.

This is not the first such initiative. In May, an agreement was signed on expanding the activities of the French Development Agency (AFD) on the territory of Ukraine. This involves the opening of representative offices of French organizations that will provide financial assistance in the form of loans, grants and guarantees, which will greatly expand the opportunities for cooperation and reconstruction.
