The Ministry of Defense begins training specialists for escort services in medical facilities

Ministry of Defense of Ukraine launches a specialized program for training military personnel to work as part of escort services in medical institutions. After completing the training, the new specialists will provide support and assistance to patients in medical facilities subordinate to the Ministry of Defense.

As part of the program, servicemen will be trained to provide psychological support and social assistance to the wounded. Currently, the recruitment of candidates for the first year according to the updated curriculum is underway.

“Military personnel who have been injured, traumatized, contused or ill while performing combat tasks need special support and assistance. This is due to temporary physical limitations and psychological exhaustion.” – said the head of the Central Department of Civil-Military Cooperation of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Oleksandr Kutkov.

According to him, military personnel who have successfully completed training focused on the intricacies of communicating with the wounded and providing them with social support during treatment will work in medical facilities. At the initial stage, escort services will operate in 24 cities of Ukraine.

Active servicemen and veterans, including those with disabilities, are invited to participate in the program. Their task is to provide support to military personnel and their families, to advise on legal, social and medical issues. Workers of such services will ensure constant contact between the military, their families, hospitals, social services, community organizations and authorities.
