The Ministry of Defense has approved the supply of an innovative transformer field kitchen

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved the codification and authorized the supply of the new MK-500 modular field kitchen, designed for cooking in the field for up to 500 servicemen. About this informs press service of the department.
Previously, the Ukrainian military used outdated Soviet field kitchens of the KP-30, KP-75, KP-125 and KP-130 models, which had limited capabilities. In particular, they could cook only two meals at the same time, they ran on wood or diesel fuel, and they also did not provide an adequate level of comfort for the personnel. These old kitchens did not have refrigerators, dishwashing equipment, and facilities for processing semi-finished products.
The new MK-500 modular kitchen, manufactured at one of the Ukrainian enterprises of the defense complex, is based on a 20-foot container. It can be transported on a trailer or a specialized vehicle. A special feature of the kitchen is hydraulic jacks, which allow it to be removed from the platform independently. It takes about two hours to fully deploy the kitchen with all the equipment, and six cooks can work in it at the same time. The kitchen is able to function autonomously, regardless of weather conditions or time of year, even in areas of destroyed infrastructure.
The module is equipped with everything necessary for full operation: a pumping station, a drainage pump for pumping out waste, air conditioners, exhaust systems, combi steamers, electric stoves, refrigerators and a diesel generator.
At this time, more than 20 such kitchens are already in use in the army. Military cooks note that the new equipment often exceeds the level of modern stationary kitchens in restaurant-type establishments.
