The Ministry of Defense has automated the selection of biological material from servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
The Center for the Transformation of Defense Resource Management Processes in cooperation with the Department of Health Protection of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Command of the Logistics Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine automated the system of accounting and storage of selected biological material of military personnel. The automation of two areas was implemented: the process of accounting for test systems intended for the collection of biological material, as well as the process of accounting for the collected biological material of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Biological material (buccal epithelium from the mucous membrane of the mouth) of military personnel will be collected in the military unit and transferred to the Genomic Information Accounting Center (CGI), where the SAP system is deployed, which is designed to automate accounting processes and control deadlines storage”, – says the message.
If it is necessary to search for missing servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine or to identify the dead, authorized persons can apply to the National Institute of Health and Welfare to obtain samples of selected biological material. Such changes should significantly facilitate and speed up investigations into cases of dead and missing Ukrainian soldiers.
The selection of biological material from servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is carried out in accordance with the requirements of paragraph 2 of Article 8 of the Law of Ukraine “On State Registration of Human Genomic Information”.
