An outbreak of acute intestinal infection among students of the same class was recorded in one of the Kyiv schools. About this informs press service of the Kyiv City Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
According to doctors, all patients underwent a bacteriological examination for the presence of intestinal infections. Some of the children are receiving inpatient treatment in Kyiv hospitals, while others are being treated on an outpatient basis under the supervision of a family doctor.
Currently, an epidemiological investigation is underway to identify the source of the infection.

Acute intestinal infections are among the most common infectious diseases that can lead to serious consequences, especially for children. Their causative agents are bacteria or viruses that enter the body with contaminated food, water or due to non-compliance with hygiene rules.

- proper cooking: thoroughly cook meat, eggs and seafood, bring food to a temperature of at least 70°C.
- food storage: keep food at a safe temperature and do not store it for too long, even in the refrigerator.
- use safe water and fresh produce: wash vegetables and fruits before consumption, especially if you eat them raw.
Following these simple rules can significantly reduce the risk of acute intestinal infections.
