On July 7, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine announced the launch of a new digital weapon supply system for the Armed Forces of Ukraine — DOT-Chain Defense. About this informs Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umyerov.
“Today, DOT-Chain Defense launched – a new digital system that speeds up and simplifies the supply of weapons to our Defense Forces. It is a kind of weapons marketplace created for the operational supply of the front.” – says the message.
10 combat brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will participate in the pilot stage of the launch of the new DOT-Chain Defense system. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has already allocated one billion hryvnias to the Defense Procurement Agency for this purpose. Thanks to these funds, units will be able to order FPV drones through the IT system of the State Rear Operator, and later – other types of drones, electronic warfare equipment and robotic complexes.
Each military unit will have the opportunity to independently determine what equipment it needs to perform combat tasks. The Defense Acquisition Agency will provide funding and logistics without red tape, reducing delivery times from months to weeks.
DOT-Chain Defense is designed as a transparent, competitive and fully digital platform modeled after the already successful military food supply system. Military personnel are able to choose, order and reserve what they need, track delivery times, leave feedback and get quick answers.
Manufacturers work according to a clear mechanism of cooperation with the state and receive direct feedback from the military. The state, in turn, sees the urgent needs of the front, makes decisions based on data, supports the development of the defense industry and the introduction of innovations.
