The Ministry of Defense reported how much money was allocated for clothing for defenders

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine continues to improve the range of clothing and personal protective equipment, focusing on the needs of female military personnel. Almost 160 million hryvnias have already been allocated for these needs this year.

As reported in MOU, a specially designed field suit and women’s underwear have already been purchased and issued. Small sizes of socks, gloves and shoes adapted for women are also provided. Two reference samples of women’s body armor have already been approved, while the demi-season underwear, cold weather underwear, and winter jackets and pants are in the testing phase.

These issues were discussed during a working meeting of representatives of the Ministry of Defense with non-governmental organizations that support women in the Armed Forces. The participants of the meeting focused on the current provision of military servicewomen and key problems that require a quick solution.

The importance of adapting the military uniform to the physiological characteristics of women, expanding the size grid and improving the quality of equipment was separately emphasized. The goal is to create a form that will provide maximum comfort and functionality for women defenders.

“Women’s clothing must meet all requirements and provide comfort during service. Thanks to cooperation with public organizations, we can quickly respond to needs and improve our processes related to the provision of women”, – emphasized the Deputy Minister of Defense Dmytro Klimenkov.
