The Ministry of Internal Affairs received almost 11 thousand questionnaires on missing persons

More than 10,800 questionnaires have already been received by the Secretariat of the Commissioner for Persons Disappeared Under Special Circumstances at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. About this reported Authorized Artur Dobroserdov.

“To date, the Office (Secretariat of the Commissioner) has received more than 10,800 questionnaires for persons missing under special circumstances. All questionnaires are attached to the accounts created in the Unified Register of persons missing under special circumstances”, the message says.

Filling out the questionnaire by relatives or loved ones of the missing person, as well as other persons who have relevant information (for example, friends or relatives), is one of the important tools in the search process.

“The questionnaire contains important information about the missing person, such as photographs, a description of the appearance, the circumstances of the disappearance, etc. The collection and analysis of such data can help establish the possible whereabouts of the missing person, assist in the identification of witnesses or other important evidence.” – the Commissioner explained.

The questionnaire allows you to get complete information about the missing person, which may not have been taken into account before – in particular, it concerns the call sign, the presence of tattoos, personal belongings or information about other people with whom the person disappeared. Adding questionnaires to the accounts of the Unified Register allows the use of this data by relevant state bodies, including the National Police, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Prosecutor General’s Office, and the Coordination Staff for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

“The more information about a missing person, the greater the chances of their return to the family. The information from the questionnaire is also important for solving questions related to identification.”, – noted Dobroserdov.

You can submit a questionnaire through the service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs “One window for citizens”. To do this, you should select the service “Submission of a questionnaire about a person missing under special circumstances to the Commissioner for issues of persons missing under special circumstances” and go through authorization. When filling out the questionnaire, it is necessary to provide the most detailed information about the missing person – in particular, a description of the appearance, characteristic physical signs, etc.

It is recommended to add high-quality photos that can be useful for identifying the person and recording the fact of his disappearance. In addition, it is necessary to indicate the circumstances of the disappearance: place, time, composition of the group (if the person was in a military unit), as well as – if possible – the likely place of stay.

“Enter your contact information so that government officials… can contact you for more information“, Dobroserdov added.
